STRONGER has published its report from the California Geologic Energy Management Division Well Stimulation Treatment (CalGEM WST) State Review. The Review focused on CalGEM’s well stimulation treatment regulations. This was California’s third State Review.
Beginning in May 2021, a Review Team representing state, environmental, and industry stakeholders evaluated the CalGEM’s well stimulation treatment regulations against the criteria of the 2019.2 Edition STRONGER Guidelines. Due to the ongoing effect of the COVID-19 pandemic, the interview phase was conducted virtually via teleconference. The Report contains many findings of program strengths, as well as recommendations for continuous improvement. Overall the Review Team found that CalGEM’s WST program demonstrates strong adherence to the criteria of the Guidelines.
