A multi-stakeholder workgroup convened by the STRONGER Board of Directors has developed draft guidelines addressing produced water pipelines in upstream oil and gas operations. The workgroup began by submitting a survey to state oil and gas environmental regulatory agencies to gather information and identify the general regulatory baseline for these pipelines. The draft guidelines language is based on the responses to the state survey, and the technical expertise of the state, industry, and environmental representatives on the workgroup. The final language will be added to Section 5 (Technical Critera) of the STRONGER Guidelines.
The draft guidelines language will be open to public comment from July 10 – August 10, 2017. Interested parties are encouraged to review the draft and send comments to STRONGER Executive Director, Ryan Steadley via email at steadley@strongerinc.org.
